A tiny puppy, just one day old, had fallen into a drain pipe, while nearby her worried mother watched in dismay. One rescuer, Nicole McCormick, with the Arizona Humane Society, devoted almost 10 hours with Phoenix police trying to rescue the unlucky baby. They could hear the poor puppy barking from underground the whole night, but because her sounds and whimpers echoed through the entire pipe system, finding her actual location was made all the more difficult.
Neighbors called police to an abandoned house when they spotted the stray mother dog with her newborn puppies. When the police got to the location, the mama was so worked up that she accidentally knocked one of her three pups into a sewage pipe! It goes without saying, the mother spent the 24 hours that followed in a constant state of fear and worry.
In the meantime, a plumbing company was called to the scene where they used a small camera to find where the puppy was located. She was found 23 feet from the opening of the pipe. When they could see just how small the pipe actually was, they realized that it was a miracle that the tiny dog had even survived- but that’s exactly what she did. Once access was gained through a hole, Nicole quickly stuck her hand into the narrow pipe, grabbed the puppy and successfully pulled her to safety.

As you’re about to see, the mama dog was more than thankful to have her baby back in her care. Not long after, all four of the dogs were put up for adoption so that they could be placed into loving, forever homes.
