Andi Davis was hiking alone on a trail in the Phoenix Mountain reserves when she spotted something unexpected: an injured pit bull lying motionless on the rocks. She gave the dog some of her water and, not wanting to leave him alone while she went for help, lifted him up and carried the 50-pound dog for 4 hours back down the mountain.
Once she made it down, Andi and her family rushed the dog to the Phoenix Human Society, where vets made a terrible discovery.
Not only did they save the dog s life, but they overcame their fear of pit bulls and gave him a loving home. What big hearts this family has.
