Dogs will throw themselves selflessly into harm’s way to keep us safe. Sometimes this is at the risk of their own lives, and we can be appreciative of their efforts to put their humans’ lives before their own. This hound dog did just that when he jumped in the way of an attack rattlesnake.
He and his foster family were out for a walk when Guinness, the puppy, intervened between the aggressive reptile and his family members. He was bitten twice by the snake, and his family ended up carrying him for twenty-five minutes in order to get him emergency medical attention. Guinness is pulling through after treatment, and has found his forever home with his foster family.
