According to Wikipedia, Craigslist is a website that has classified advertisements. There are sections devoted to housing, jobs, items people want, items for sale, services, gigs, and discussion forums. You can spend hours and hours searching on Craigslist for just about anything!

Amazingly, an adorable 4-week-old puppy was put up for sale on Craigslist. The puppy has since been named, Little Bear. Little Bear was purchased by a man for $600 – a gift for the man’s 6-month-old-son. Remember how we continue to mention never to ‘buy’ pets? Looks like some people don’t learn.

The man soon realized that the puppy was a lot more work than he anticipated – so, he planned to just dump the puppy on the streets of New York City. He was going to wait until it was dark outside to do the heartless act so no one would see him. But, the owner notifiedSocial Tees Animal Rescue early one morning and a volunteer rushed to rescue Little Bear.

No one is quite sure where Little Bear came from – only that his mother had died. He had been part of a litter that was born in someone’s basement. Female dogs are often bred, and their puppies are sold on Craigslist.

The backyard breeders claim the mother died during birth. That way it doesn’t seem so cruel to sell a puppy so young.

For now, Little Bear is doing well with his foster mom – growing bigger and stronger! Watch him in action below with one of his canine buddies!
