On July 15, 2016, Randy Grim, the founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis saw the worst case of animal cruelty. Grim was in tears when he was the emaciated dog who had been shot at point blank range – in the face. A good Samaritan notified the rescue and Grim went out and picked the dog up. The dog is named Nickles and is a very gentle dog.
Nickels had almost starved to death and half of his muzzle was missing from the gunshot. From the video – it doesn’t look like a new injury, Nickles has been suffering for some time. Grim rushed Nickles to the veterinary hospital, and he is now fighting for his life. The incident occurred at the intersection of Sullivan and Jefferson in St. Louis.
